For laser clinics offering diode, alexandrite, or Nd:YAG hair removal. The Fitzpatrick skin-type picker (I–VI) tells you which laser is safe — a hard requirement for IPL/diode clinics. Hair color is captured because blonde/red/grey hair doesn't respond to laser.
Fitzpatrick swatches let dark-skinned patients self-select, which keeps you out of trouble — diode is fine for I–IV; V–VI need Nd:YAG. Skip-logic auto-rejects blonde/grey hair leads (laser doesn't target them).
It's the standard scale clinicians use to pick the safe laser. Type V–VI patients need an Nd:YAG to avoid burns. Type I patients with light hair often don't respond at all.
