Multi-step forms
One question per screen, smooth transitions, automatic progress bar — the conversion-optimized form pattern that made Typeform famous.
When to use multi-step
Multi-step forms increase completion rates by breaking a long form into bite-sized screens. Use them when:
- Your form has more than 5 fields.
- You want a high-intent lead capture experience.
- You're running paid traffic and need every conversion.
- Your form has conditional branches.
How to build one
In the editor, add a new step for each question group. Drag fields into each step. Reorder steps by dragging them in the step sidebar.
Progress indicators
Every multi-step form automatically shows a progress bar at the top. You can disable it, swap to a dot-style indicator, or customize its color in the theme settings.
